A touted to be “first-of-its-kind” Tablet Gaming Championship has been initiated by chipmaker Intel across 25 UniverCell SYNC stores in Mumbai and Bangalore. The announcement was made at the newest store in Colaba, Mumbai located near Dr. Shyam P Mukherji Chowk.
The gaming contest will start on Jul. 14 and will be on for two weeks. Two winners from both Mumbai and Bangalore who shall be declared at the end of the fortnight or last day of second week will bag in Asphalt 8 Airborne and FIFA 14 games. Contestants will be playing the Asphalt 8 Airborne and FIFA 14 games on Intel powered Android tablets.
Why a ‘Gaming’ campaign?
The campaign is actually a consumer engagement initiative where consumers shall find more time with devices in UniverCell stores that should directly affect UniverCell’s branding and consumer base and indirectly affect Intel powered devices.
When speaking with Sandeep Aurora, Director Marketing and Market Development at Intel India, he told how a gaming contest could benefit Intel by making consumers aware of how better an Intel equipped tablet devices are, by in hand performance demonstration through contest.
